If you are using a brush or other contact applicator to apply color to your project, our Rub-Coat Additive can be mixed directly with the color prior to application. This will toughen the color coating, and provide adequate wear and chemical resistance. RCA is mixed at a 4:6 ratio, RCA to color.
If you are using an air-brush, or other spray equipment to apply color to your project, then a subsequent application of top-coat would be necessary to provide adequate wear and chemical resistance. Our top-coats are shipped as a concentrate. They are mixed at a 1:1 ratio with water for application.
Top-coats are applied after primer, fill compound, and leather paint (leather finish). In the case of RCA, it is used at the same time as leather paint (leather finish) application, as the two are combined before application.
